Al Sapienza - Biography

Actor - A Month of Sundays

Before landing the role of Mickey Palmice on The Sopranos, Al Sapienza ran the gamut of get-me-the-Italian-character-actor roles - episodes of NYPD Blue, Law & Order, a memorable arc on Melrose Place as the "mean Mafia guy who makes Lori Leighton be a prostitute again." He's done his fair share of movies, too - Godzilla, Lethal Weapon 4, Under Siege 2 - and he appears opposite Alec Baldwin in the film Thick as Thieves, and in The Gifted, a drama about musically gifted hoods, which he stars in and produced. Sapienza also joined the cast of the indy comedy Hollywood Sign for director Sonke Wortmann. This picture tells the story of three washed up actors - played by Rod Steiger, Burt Reynolds and Tom Berenger - involved in a dangerous plot designed to finance their comeback. Sapienza played (again) an Italian mafia member who pretends to be in the liquor trade but is actually involved in a casino heist.
