To those whose lives they briefly touched, Los Zafiros (The Sapphires) are legends. A musical phenomenon molded by their time and place, they caused a sensation at home in Cuba and beyond throughout the 1960's. Thirty years after their breakup fans still wonder what happened to the singing youths from Havana. This documentary is a vivid, moving, and balanced portrait of their remarkable musical success story told through the memories of Manuel Galban and Miguel Cancio, the two surviving members of Los Zafiros as they reunite in Havana.
