The Palm Beach International Film Festival
April 3-10, 2003

The 8th Annual Palm Beach International Film Festival celebrates the history and future of cinema with seven days of parties, appearances by filmmakers and stars, and premieres of films from all over the world. Festival Theater locations range from Jupiter, West Palm Beach, and South Palm Beach County. Below are just a few of the events we're planning.

The Student Showcase of Films
With the "student focus" being the soul of the PBIFF's mission this prestigious showcase is designed to encourage and support budding student filmmakers. It features the finest in cinema produced by young filmmakers competing in three categories: high schools, community colleges and universities throughout the state of Florida.

Filmmaker Panels/Seminars
Thought-provoking, stimulating and informational, this industry panel discussion features directors and producers of independent films and from leading foreign and American independent studios.

Grand Gala Award Show
The crown jewel of the Palm Beach International Film Festival is the Annual Black Tie Awards Gala. The backdrop of this "Hollywood" style evening is set at one of Palm Beach County's world-reknowned resorts. The globe will be focused on Palm Beach as the festival recognizes the hottest and most respected talents from the the motion picture industry of today and yesterday.

Opening Night Festivities
The Hollywood Style red-carpet event features celebrity appearances connected with the opening night film and party.

Closing Night Awards Ceremony
2003 marks the first year for PBIFF as a competitive festival. A panel of renowned film industry experts will judge films featured during the festival. On this night, those who entered their films will be presented with awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Performance by an Actor/Actress, and Audience Favorite.

International and American Independent Films
The festival offers the community an exciting line-up of over 50 top American and International features, featurettes, shorts, documentaries and large format films. Most of the screenings are visited by the filmmakers and stars providing both film viewers and film talent an opportunity for enlightening discussion.

Parties
A great way to see the town and meet new people! Generally held nightly, the gatherings take place at various venues throughout Palm Beach County offering film audiences a chance to connect with film buffs, filmmakers and peers.
