film synopsis

The Kid Stays in The Picture traces the rise and fall, and rise again of Legendary Hollywood producer, Robert Evans. In his distinctive voice and story-telling manner, Evans narrates this documentary on his life. Adapted from his infamous 1994 autobiography, the film chronicles Evans' days as an actor (The Sun Also Rises), a Paramount executive (Love Story, The Odd Couple, The Godfather) and producer (Chinatown). Through the years, Evans' closest friends included Jack Nicholson, Roman Polanski, Henry Kissinger, and Dustin Hoffman. Considered one of Tinseltown's most enduring bachelors, Evans has enjoyed meaningful love affairs with some of the most beautiful women of the past half-century, including Eva Gardner, Grace Kelly, Lana Turner, Ali McGraw, Cheryl Tiegs, Raquel Welch and Margeaux Hemingway. Academy Award-Nominated filmmakers, Brett Morgen and Nanette Burstein bring this Hollywood tale to life with archival footage and clips from classic films.
