STUDENTS THROUGHOUT FLORIDA INVITED
TO ENTER FILMS IN COMPETITION
West Palm Beach, FL.: The Palm Beach International Film Festival invites film students within universities, community colleges, and high schools throughout the state of Florida, to submit their film projects for competition during the 2002 festival. This year¹s festival marks the first year that PBIFF extended the opportunity to Statewide high school students. Films, entered by the schools and selected for competition, will be showcased on April 15th and judged by a panel of accomplished motion picture professionals. In addition to the judges, the public will be invited to view the works of our future filmmakers. A cash prize is awarded to schools for first, second and third place in each category: University Competition Winners receive $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $750 for third place. Community College and High School Competition Winners receive $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place and $500 for third place winners. The Deadline for entries is March 1, 2002. Schools wishing to enter their student film projects must submit an entry form or E-mail: pbifilmfest@aol.com or call 561-689-2888. April 11 18, 2002 marks the 7th year for the Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF). In previous years the festival has featured films including Sordid Lives, The Big Tease and hosted film legends including Tommy Lee Jones, Ann Margaret, and Rod Steiger. This year the festival plans a line-up of over 40 American Independent, International, documentary, shorts and Large Format films. Special events, celebrity appearances and seminars add to the excitement. Net proceeds for the festival benefit school film programs in Palm Beach County Florida.
