"From Script to Screen" - Workshops & Seminars

Directing the Actor - An in-depth discussion of the Director's job and how to communicate, collaborate and maximize talent. Join Clint Howard for morning coffee as he explores this aspect of filmmaking. Presenter: Clint Howard, Actor/Producer, whose acting career has spanned more than 43 years with credits that include over 75 films, numerous television series and more than 74 television appearances. Clint starred in the film Hitters Anonymous, which was filmed in Palm Beach County and will hold its world premiere at this year's festival.

Preparation of a Low Budget Production - A veteran actor, appearing in over 50 low budget films, Clint has seen every mistake made. Learn how to prepare, create a team environment and identify production mistakes, before they cause the wheels to fall off the wagon. Presenter: Clint Howard, Actor /Producer

Working the Material for Directors & Writers - Don't quit on the script... just because you've gotten the green light! Explore how to find the surprises in the script that will improve scenes and refine and elevate the project. Presenter: Clint Howard, Actor/Producer

Greenlighting the Project - A Two Part Series - Part I: The Wind Up - From Concept to Screen, the idea...the pitch...the sale: Explore the challenges of creating and selling your projects and the art of pitching. Presenter: Conrad Bachmann, Governor of the Performers Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and former chairman of their Advanced Workshop Studies. He conducts "Developing and Pitching" Seminars for professional groups all over the country.

11:45am-1:15pm
On Camera Actors Workshop - From headshot evaluations, to one minute prepared monologues, actors will have an opportunity to hear how they are viewed by a panel of top industry professionals. Bring your headshot and a one minute prepared monologue. Presenter: Ilse Earl, Ph.D. is a professional actress, director, producer and acting teacher. Special Guests: Diane & Jeremy Arthur, Arthur Arthur Talent Agency, Ellen Jacoby, Ellen Jacoby Casting International, Ltd. Conrad Bachmann, Governor of the Performers Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Monte Young, Director. His film Hitters Anonymous was filmed in Palm Beach County and will hold its world premiere at this year's film festival.

The Five Stages of Production - From Idea to Screen - How to find ideas and develop screenplays, package the talent, finance the films and physically produce them. Presenter: Jonathan D. Krane, Producer of more than 40 major motion pictures and manager of over 150 actors, directors and screenwriters.

2:45pm-4:15pm
Greenlighting Your Project - Part II: The Pitch & The Home Run - Selected participants from Greenlighting Your Project, Part I will have the opportunity to present a 3 minute pitch that will be critiqued. Presenter: Conrad Bachmann, Governor of the Performers Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

4:30-5:00pm
High Definition Video - Demonstration of the Sony HDR-FX1HDV a sub-$5,000 camera technology that allows independent and low budget filmmakers and videographers a chance to shoot in hi def. Short films 3 Sisters, Release Me and The Inside Job will be shown. Presenter: Heath McKnight, MPS Digital Studios Special Guest: Jon Fordham, Director of Photography
