12th ANNUAL PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL
FILM FESTIVAL HONORED FILM LEGENDS AT
ANNUAL AWARDS GALA

(Boca Raton, FL April 25, 2007) The Palm Beach International Film Festival once again hosted the premiere event of the festival, the Grand Gala Awards Show and Dinner on Saturday, April 21 at the Boca Raton Resort and Club.
Tristan Rogers, star of General Hospital and The List, served as the master of ceremonies for the evening. Honorees at the Grand Gala were actress Margaret OBrien (Little Women, Meet Me In St. Louis), the recipient of the Legend In Film Award; presented by Jane Higginson (The Indian, General Hospital); Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, The List) was the recipient of the Career Achievement Award; presented by local actor and friend, Tim Ware. QOrianka Kilcher (The New World) received the Shooting Star Award from Paolo Benedeti (Bold and the Beautiful) and South African producer Anant Singh (Sarafina!, Cry, The Beloved Country) received the World Visionary Award from festival executive director Randi Emerman. Karen Weiss, local philanthropist and gala executive producer received the Founders Award from County Commissioner Burt Aaronson.
Over 500 attended the star-studded event which included a cocktail reception, dinner, dancing, a silent auction and celebrities galore. In addition to the celebrities listed above where Vincent Pastore from the Sopranos, Kin Shriner from General Hospital, local actress Avery Sommers from Hiding Victoria and Menopause the Musical and Mary Elise Hayden from Kathy T.
The 12th annual Palm Beach International Film Festival was held April 19 - 26 at various venues throughout Palm Beach County. PBIFF is a not for profit 501(3)(c) charity dedicated to improving educational programs in Palm Beach County high schools, community colleges and universities. Proceeds raised each year go to Palm Beach County schools to provide new technologies for optimal learning in the forms of grants and scholarships.
