Throughout its history, the PBIFF has featured a variety of American and International independent films...some thought-provoking, some culturally stimulating, others that made you laugh, and some that made you cry. Whether the film became a box office hit or never received a theatrical release...whether you loved it or hated it...it evoked your emotions and provided you with an opportunity to see films that were new, different and perhaps may not have otherwise experienced.

PBIFF has also hosted a bevy of top celebrities and filmmakers including: Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, James Whitmore, Tommy Lee Jones, Jacqueline Bisset, Richard Zanuck, William Friedkin, Jean Becker, Roger Moore, Ann Margaret, Sylvester Stallone, Esther Williams, Burt Reynolds, Michael Caine, Anouk Aimee, Salma Hayek, Samuel L. Jackson and Cyd Charisse . . . just to name a few.
